Hello!
Bilingual family raised in Val d'Oise, north suburb of Paris. Girl of 8, boy of 6, we have literally just decided to go ahead with quitting school, and homeschooling. Husband works, I will be making it up as we go. I don't intend on sticking to a specific programme, but mixing them, and playing it by ear. Of course we have been thinking about this for months, and have done all the research.
Who are you looking to network with, what activities do you do, etc.:
We are looking to meet up with other HSing families, English, bilingual, and French speaking families, who have kids in the same approximate age range as ours, and ideally, who live close by. I think I would enjoy company on most of our outings, not make it Something extraordinary, but on the contrary, hanging out after a visit to the museum would already be great!
Any tips for other home educators?:
As a beginner, the best tip for the moment is "Trust and wait"! None of us can predict how our kids will turn out, but one thing you can't give too much of is love and time. So keep on smiling, and know that we all learn by our mistakes!
